Joey, AC9QS delivered a fine presentation during last night’s virtual meeting detailing the planning so far for this year York Radio Club 2020 Field Day celebration – With COVID19 planning will force new ways –
Below is a link to Joey’s PowerPoint explaining a few options which are being explored https://yorkradioclub.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/May2020FieldDayPresentation-2.pptx
summer project for YRC
George, KC9UIU has come up with a fine suggestion for the Club this summer – a Radio Fox Hunt
The FOX is a Transmitter with the ability to transmit CW ID and a carrier with an audio tone so we can try to pinpoint the azimuth. This process would repeat the cycle every 1 or 2 minutes.

Each participant (or team) would need a handheld radio with a signal level indicator, attenuation pad to knock down a strong receive signal, and a directional antenna to determine azimuth.
the key is a directional antenna (Tape Measure Yagi) – see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmHoQrDfw-0&t=17s
More will be discussed on the nets and George will discuss this summer project during our virtual ZOOM May meeting –
