YRC Summer Fox Hunt
The York Radio Club August meeting will be held on the 18th. at 8:00pm -The location is the Elmhurst Fire Department Training Center at Addison and Diversey. Our Hunt will commence at 5:30pm and stops at 7:30pm –
Net Control: George KC9UIU, via YRC Repeater 442.875 Mhz. PL 114Hz All coms through net control only. All who want to participate check in via net control. Do not announce my location, let others find their way. When you find the Fox I will give you a number and you can relocate to the meeting location.
Fox: 147.420 Mhz. Simplex, carrier squelch. Yaesu VX-3 operating at approximately 3 watts with a roof mount magnetic antenna on a 2020 Orange Jeep Wrangler, located in Elmhurst on public property.
Fox Format:
- Morse code ID, W9YRC, FOX, (~13 seconds)
- 800 Hz. Tone (~20 seconds)
- Unmodulated carrier (~10 seconds)
- New cycle starts ~30 seconds
(One complete cycle takes ~ 73 seconds)
