Why upgrade your license?
- General Class licensees can do all of the things that Technicians can, but they are given more HF privileges, most notably, can operate digital modes and SSB phone on the HF bands below 28 MHz. Generals can also operate at full output power of 1500 W, on most of the HF bands.

Once registered we will subscribe you to our GROUPS IO email reflector setup just for this weekend’s review session – The reflector will not only have all registered participants but also our Club members who have volunteered to be coaches, or Elmers as we Hams call the person who will be available to answer questions, help explain and cheerlead for your success.
We will also assign you a York Radio Club member who will be your first direct contact should you have questions or concerns plus you will have a coach in your corner.
Along with the ARRL license manual, we suggest you visit a few online learning websites for the General Class exam. Pick one and add this resource to your preparation. All are free to use and will further assist your preparation.

Our class is FREE; but there is a $14 exam fee
(required by our national amateur radio testing service – W5YI Group in conjunction with the ARRL VE Testing Program)
