Illinois Personalized Amateur Radio License Plates

In reference to Governor Rauner’s proposal to do away with 100 plus license plate types, the following information was obtained from ARRL Illinois Section Manager Thomas T. Ciciora KA9QPN

I’ve already gotten several “how could you let this happen?”emails on this matter. The recently passed bill number in question here is HB1081, which speaks to the 100+ types of  plates which are used as commemoratives, fundraisers and/or collectibles. It does not affect personalized Amateur Radio plates. The affected plates are well defined in the text of the bill.

All is well. 73–

A Maker’s Introduction to Ham Radio

makers1Want to explain ham radio to a friend or colleague?
Need a good article to help inform someone what amateur radio has been, is and might be one day?  Here’s a valuable write up on our hobby which can help you get someone’s interest about becoming a ham.

Perfect timing as your club is preparing for a weekend training class for the successful passing FCC technician class license exam. Again, good for you to share with those same friends or colleagues who may have an interest, (even your own family, maybe the XYL?)
